Channel 12
eQuality - Pathways to Potential has formed a community partnership with local cable Channel 12. Channel 12 serves Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center, Crystal, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, New Hope, Osseo, Plymouth and Robbinsdale. Groups of Associates have been working on projects there on and off since 2003. Associates have learned how to format and plan their shows, use the cameras, mix audio and are now working on editing their own shows. The groups have gone to the Channel 12 studio for on set filming as well as borrowed cameras to use on location. Several eQuality shows have been broadcast on Channel 12, including an interview with the Mayor of Plymouth.
Environmental Education
eQuality has partnered with the Three Rivers Park District and specifically the North Mississippi Regional Park since 2002. Every week there is at least one eQuality group that heads to the Carl W. Kroening Interpretive Center in Minneapolis. Situated right along the Mississippi river, the park is the perfect setting for eQuality Associates to learn about nature.[SinglePic not found]
Yellow Tree Theater
In 2008, eQuality began a partnership with the Yellow Tree Theater located in Osseo. Professional actors and actresses work with Associates on a regular basis to learn how to express emotions on the stage, speak loud enough to be heard in a production, hit their marks and learn their lines. This is a great therapeutic outlet for many Associates and allows them to become more confident and use their creativity in a non-vocational way. eQuality Associates will be putting on a three day production in the spring of 2009.
Community Gardens Partnership
eQuality’s enclaves worked hard in two community gardens in the spring and summer of 2008. Program Associates from the Maple Grove Community Center, Plymouth Creek Community Center and AaCron partnered with JD Rivers community gardens in Minneapolis (located in Wirth Park) and Gail Woods Farm in Minnetrista. Associates prepared raised beds for planting at the Children’s Garden at JD Rivers. In exchange for this work, eQuality was given a section for their own plants.[SinglePic not found]
