Job Coach
I. As a key program staff the individual in this position will assume the following responsibilities:
A. Program design, implementation, and evaluation
1. Will serve as the primary site supervisor when scheduled at the Maple Grove Community Center or other job sites as assigned.
2. Will implement programs directly with program associates, ensuring positive, high quality, supportive environments.
a. Will provide vocational supervision and training.
b. Will provide non-vocational classes, instruction, community field trips, and support.
3. Will evaluate program effectiveness, and make adjustments to programs when necessary.
4. Assist program associate in fulfilling objectives assigned to them on their Individual Service Plan (ISP)
5. Assist program associate in adjusting behaviors which inhibit their success
6. Assure safety of all program associates during participation in program
7. Know program associate’s health concerns
8. Maintain requirements of the Vulnerable Adults Law.
9. Assist in scheduling and providing associate transportation as required.
B. Organization/Community Initiatives and Leadership
1. Develop positive relationships with local employers, County Social Workers, program associates and their families.
C. Follow and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
Adopt necessary measures to ensure that all organizational initiatives comply with the mission.
D. Complete all other assigned tasks as may be necessary for the agency to fulfill its commitments and mission.

II. Position Requirements
A. Knowledge of current issues affecting work with developmentally disabled adults.
B. Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse population.
C. Knowledge of Department of Labor and County Licensing regulations and systems especially as available for the developmentally disabled population.
D. Ability to train and supervise developmentally disabled adults in vocational and non-vocational settings.
E. Ability to problem-solve under stressful situations.
F. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
G. Able to comply with agency driving requirements.
H. Knowledge of and ability to work with program associates of diverse cultures.
I. Ability to gather data for time studies, baselines, quarterly, and annual reports.
J. Knowledge of transportation systems, especially as available for developmentally disabled adults.
II. Required Education and/or Experience.
A. High School diploma or equivalent
B. One year work experience with developmentally disabled persons.
C. Minnesota Driver’s license, and a clear driving record
D. Must be able to pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services background study check.
